Job Description

Order Picker / Forklift Operator Job Description This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of order fulfillment for direct-to-consumer orders, wholesale distributors, and stock transfers. You will operate various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, prepare shipments, and use handheld scanners to track inventory movement while maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment. Responsibilities Process orders accurately and on time for direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and stock transfer shipments. Follow and adhere to order fulfillment procedures and scanning guidelines to ensure accurate inventory movement. Use handheld scanners to track, record, and verify inventory transactions with a high level of accountability. Prepare shipments by palletizing, wrapping, and banding as directed to ensure safe and secure transport. Operate stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, order selectors, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Perform picking and material handling tasks, including the use of electric pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment. Proactively communicate product, inventory, and order-related issues to distribution center leadership. Support the achievement of established KPI metrics related to order fulfillment accuracy, speed, and quality. Follow all organizational safety rules, procedures, and guidelines at all times. Maintain a clean and safe work area by practicing CAYGO (clean as you go) throughout the shift. Assist team members and collaborate effectively to meet daily operational goals and deadlines. Perform other warehouse duties and tasks as assigned to support overall distribution operations. Essential Skills Proven ability to operate stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, order selectors, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely. Experience with order picking and material handling in a warehouse environment. Ability to use handheld scanners for inventory control and order processing. Understanding of basic Microsoft Office and other job-related applications. Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED, or 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred. Prior warehouse (WH) experience preferred. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently preferred. Familiarity with inventory control processes and best practices. Work Environment This position is based in a distribution center/warehouse environment that involves regular operation of material handling equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, order selectors, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and handheld scanners. Work is active and physical, requiring frequent stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving throughout the facility. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with a strong focus on following established safety rules and practicing CAYGO (clean as you go). You will work closely with a team under time-sensitive conditions to meet order fulfillment goals and key performance metrics. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
