Job Description Summary of Position:

The Forklift Operator will support the operations teams by moving supplies and product where needed to maximize efficiency in the Greenhouse or Packhouse.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Transport product and supplies from one location to another using area's assigned forklift Follow all safety protocols while operating forklift Support the greenhouse or packhouse operations as needed Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers Follow quality, food safety and service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations Participate in any required company trainings, including safety, forklift, and food safety Notify maintenance team if any repairs or forklift maintenance is needed

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Able to stand, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time Ability to always pay attention and be aware of one's surroundings while operating a vehicle Knowledge of forklift safety rules

Education and Experience:

Current forklift certification or current forklift certification from recent Fortune 500 employer; must complete internal forklift safety training upon being hired High School Diploma/GED 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

Supervisory:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

Greenhouse, 50% The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year PPE must be worn at all times Packhouse, 50% The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality PPE must be worn at all times

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
