Forklift Operator Location:
Altavista, VA Schedule:
2nd Shift - 3pm to 11:30pm
Pay Rate:
$16/hr.

Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our warehouse and distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, load, unload, store, and distribute products efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy and adhering to all safety standards. Key Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker, order picker, and electric pallet jack equipment as needed. Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments in a timely manner. Move materials throughout the warehouse and production areas according to work orders and inventory needs. Accurately pick, stage, and prepare orders for shipment. Utilize RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory software to track materials and update inventory records. Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy. Inspect forklifts and other equipment before each shift and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production teams to meet daily goals and deadlines. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment preferred. Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus. Preferred Skills Shipping and receiving experience Inventory control and cycle counting Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other WMS platforms Experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment
