Job Title:
Reach Truck Operator Job Description This role operates within a distribution center, using a reach truck and other material handling equipment to pick and receive orders for shipment. You will work primarily on the receiving side of the warehouse, handling inbound product, organizing inventory, and supporting accurate and timely order fulfillment. The position suits motivated and skilled equipment operators who take pride in safe, efficient, and accurate work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to pick orders for shipment from designated warehouse locations. Use a pallet jack to move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse and receiving areas. Perform receiving duties, including unloading inbound shipments, verifying quantities, and staging products in the correct locations. Use an RF scanner to locate, pick, and confirm products and to maintain accurate inventory records. Handle forklift and reach lift operations in accordance with safety procedures and warehouse guidelines. Organize and maintain the receiving area and storage locations to ensure a clean, orderly, and efficient work environment. Follow picking procedures and time expectations as order picking performance begins to be tracked. Inspect equipment before use and report any defects or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. Work collaboratively with warehouse and distribution center team members to meet shipping and receiving timelines. Adhere to all safety policies, operational procedures, and warehouse standards at all times. Essential Skills Proven experience operating a reach lift in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Hands-on experience with order picking using a reach truck or similar material handling equipment. Experience performing receiving functions, including unloading, verification, and staging of inbound products. Proficiency using a pallet jack to safely move pallets and materials. Ability to operate a forklift and related warehouse equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Experience using an RF scanner for picking, receiving, and inventory tracking. Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Strong attention to detail to ensure correct product handling and order accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working in a distribution center environment with evolving performance tracking for order picking. Willingness to learn additional warehouse processes and cross-train in other operational areas. Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and team members. Work Environment This position is based in a warehouse and distribution center setting, working primarily on the receiving side of the facility. You will spend most of the day operating reach trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners to move and manage inventory. The role involves working around racking, pallets, and active material handling equipment in a busy, production-oriented environment. Hours and shifts follow typical warehouse operations, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and efficiency. Attire should be appropriate for a warehouse setting, including suitable work clothing and footwear that support safe equipment operation and movement throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
