Material Handler/Forklift Operator Pipe Yard

Who We're Looking For:

As a Material Handler at Cascadia Metals/NAPSteel, you will play a critical role in the efficient movement and organization of materials within the yard. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts, handling orders, and ensuring the safe and effective flow of materials.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Maintain product inventory in the pipe yard, ensuring organization and accessibility.
• Break bundles and re-band materials for packaging and order preparation.
• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move steel materials.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Utilize equipment such as saws, bevelers, and torches for material handling.
• Manage incoming product in receiving bay, maintaining organization in the yard.
• Prioritize safety for yourself and drivers during deliveries.
• Pull and prepare orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain material inventory and organization in the Pipe Yard.
• Safely stack and store materials.
• Complete ad hoc projects assigned by the Pipe Yard Supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in material handling and forklift operation, especially in a steel yard or similar environment.
• Valid forklift operator's license or certification.
• Strong attention to safety and the ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to consistently report to work as scheduled and perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Requirements:
