Job Description

Summary of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Philanthropy, the Annual Campaign and Gifts Manager is responsible for managing the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center's (LFJCC's) annual fundraising campaign infrastructure to ensure a coordinated, timely, and efficient strategy. This role oversees annual campaign efforts for both the JCC and CJC in close collaboration with the Associate Director of Philanthropy. The Annual Campaign and Gifts Manager leads the development and execution of all annual campaigns and oversees the accurate processing of donor contributions, including cash, stock gifts, pledges, and other donations. This role ensures all gifts are properly recorded in the database and reconciled with the Finance Department. Additionally, this position manages the Salesforce database, maintaining data accuracy, integrity, and cleanliness, and serves as a key resource to all departments on philanthropy-related data and donor information. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, with the ability to learn and manage complex database systems, and to develop and implement policies and procedures for effective donor tracking. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential to ensure compliance and support accurate, timely reporting to the Board of Directors and donors.
Annual Campaign Management Duties:
Manage and implement all collateral for each annual campaign for the entire year including: online platform, marketing collateral and digital communications in partnership with Marketing, print deadlines, signage, solicitation, renewal and stewardship calls. Supervise a comprehensive annual campaign calendar to share with philanthropy and all departments. The calendar will establish deadlines for marketing and philanthropy related items including mailing lists, solicitation letter/email, remit collateral, benefits when applicable, and renewal/solicitation/stewardship calls for each individual campaign. Actively cultivate, engage, and steward a personal portfolio of donors to maximize support and impact. Serve as the primary point of contact for each department and for Underwriters. Ensure printed and digital donor recognition is accurate across JCC and CJC programs by maintaining Pillars, Legacy, Underwriting and other donor lists. Accurately manage and track benefits for Underwriters and Corporate Sponsors. Provide support for special fundraising events, including the San Diego International Jewish Film Festival, Patron Party, Legacy Society event, Hanukkah Happening, and other initiatives as needed. Work closely with JCC and CJC department heads to help identify potential major donors.
Financial Management Duties:
Enter the daily receipt of donor gifts, run daily proof reports for each gift batch and complete deposit slips for daily entries. Manage the processing of all donor gifts that come in through external platforms into Salesforce. Continuously expand knowledge of best practices and apply insights to inform internal policies and procedures. Retrieve and batch web credit card gifts into a report in preparation for gift entry.
Legacy Society and Grant Management Duties:
Engage an existing portfolio of Legacy donors. Work closely with the Director of Philanthropy to identify and steward new Legacy Society members. Attend Endowment Leadership Institute workshops. Support the Assistant Director of Philanthropy in researching, identifying, and writing grant proposals aligned with organizational programs.
Database Management Duties:
Maintain donor lists for financial (board, committee) and print/digital (marketing materials, signage) reporting. Improve the department's ability to use Salesforce data strategically. Develop expertise in Salesforce reporting and provide support to the Philanthropy department and other departments as needed. Research, enter, and maintain data within the Salesforce database, ensuring accuracy through regular audits. Establish and oversee donor tracking practices, developing policies and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate data management. Create and manage database records for donors, prospects, and corporate partners, maintaining comprehensive biographical information. Collaborate with departments at LFJCC to design and implement systems (databases and processes) that ensure accurate, flexible, and reliable data collection, analysis, and reporting. Communicate findings to teams to support decision-making, benchmarking, performance tracking, and donor cultivation as needed.
Acknowledgement Letter Management Duties:
Manage the Acknowledgement Letter process by drafting, processing and mailing formal acknowledgement of all donations within 72 hours of receipt of gift. Guide the Philanthropy department by maintaining accurate files on donors and grants. Ensure appropriate recognition of donors and volunteers in all collateral. Work with all departments to produce appropriate donor lists for print and solicitation/cultivation purposes. Maintain confidentiality regarding all gifts.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
B.S. or B.A. College Degree is preferred but not required. Previous experience with Salesforce software required. Minimum of 3 years' experience in fundraising or customer service. Excellent writing and language skills. Proficiency in Microsoft suite and ability to learn new software systems with minimal supervision. Knowledge of marketing, and web-based promotion is a plus. Demonstrate excellence in customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Adaptable and available to attend and help with special events as needed. Strong data management and technical skills. Quick decision making skills in high volume/stress times. Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and data integrity. Excellent organizational skills. Good problem-solving, decision making and analytical skills. Skilled in mail merge is required. A valid driver's license is required. Ability to pass both a Federal and State background check.
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment and Community Center environment. Regular business hours; For Major events may be required to work weekends and evenings as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Requires long periods of sitting and standing. Frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms for long periods of time. Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending. Regularly required to communicate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to do light lifting (maximum 25 lbs.) as needed is required. Work at a computer station for extended periods of time. $71,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
