$90,000 - $100,000 About the Organization A well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare is seeking a Director of Development to play a key role in driving fundraising efforts and strengthening long-term donor relationships. This organization is mission-driven, focused on rescue, rehabilitation, and community education. Position Overview The Director of Development will support the Chief Development Officer in executing fundraising initiatives and growing a sustainable base of philanthropic support. This role is focused on donor engagement, annual giving, and revenue generation through strategic outreach and relationship management. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing donor portfolios, driving campaigns, and supporting fundraising events, while collaborating closely with leadership, marketing, and community stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and select foundation donors
  • Oversee the full donor lifecycle: identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Plan and execute annual giving campaigns to drive donor retention and recurring contributions
  • Identify and engage new donor prospects to expand the organization's funding base
  • Support grant writing efforts and submit proposals to corporate and foundation partners
  • Secure sponsorships for fundraising initiatives and events
  • Partner with leadership, board members, and volunteers on fundraising strategies and activities
  • Attend networking and community events to build and maintain donor relationships
  • Support donor recognition programs, including naming opportunities and tribute giving
  • Contribute to fundraising events by driving sponsorships, ticket sales, and donor participation
  • Maintain accurate donor records, track performance, and generate fundraising reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and donor experience
