Full-Time Position Summary:
The Development Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all the organization's fundraising efforts, including major gifts, annual giving, special events, corporate and foundation support, and donor stewardship. The Development Director works closely with the Chairman and the CEO to cultivate a culture of philanthropy to enhance financial sustainability.Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy and Execution Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals. Lead all annual, capital, and special campaigns. Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners. Manage donor database and track all contributions, pledges, and acknowledgments. Manage relationships with Foundation CPA firm and auditor. Donor Relations and Stewardship Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors through regular communication, personalized stewardship, and meaningful engagement opportunities. Create and execute a donor stewardship plan to ensure donor retention and growth. Oversee donor recognition and appreciation efforts. Grant Writing and Management Identify grant opportunities and write compelling proposals to secure foundation and corporate funding. Track reporting deadlines and ensure timely submission of progress reports and compliance documents. Events and Campaigns Plan and execute fundraising events including annual galas, donor appreciation events, and community engagement initiatives. Coordinate campaign messaging, design, and execution in collaboration with communications staff. Team Leadership and Collaboration Supervise and support development staff or contractors (if applicable). Partner with the CEO and leadership team to engage them in fundraising efforts and donor outreach. Work cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and program teams to align fundraising and organizational priorities. Reporting and Budgeting Prepare regular development reports for leadership. Manage the annual development budget. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Nonprofit fundraising experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. Strong understanding of fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and nonprofit operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., DonorPerfect, Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Excel, or similar). Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized. Ability to work evenings or weekends as required for events or donor engagement. Preferred Attributes Passion for the mission and values of the organization.
