The Development team advances the mission of the University of Idaho Foundation by inspiring private giving among alumni, friends, groups, corporations and foundations. By building and strengthening relationships, our donor-centered approach connects stakeholders' passions and philanthropic goals to opportunities to support the University of Idaho priorities that matter to them.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the management of assigned prospects through cultivation activities, face-to-face visits, proposal development, identification of solicitation of major gifts primarily $100,000 or more from individuals, corporations and foundations. The incumbent is a key member of the college/unit fundraising team and works collaboratively to achieve fundraising goals for the college/unit and university, additionally serving as a member of units leadership teams. This position will have supervisory responsibilities for a unit or multiple units within the development team.
Duties may include:
Identify, cultivate and manage assigned prospects Collaborate with university leadership, development officers, academic departments and other stakeholders on fundraising campaigns and initiatives Develop and present fundraising proposals, typically at $100,000 or higher Develop and implement annual plans to raise money to resource the priorities of the department Build the overall fundraising program of the division, including communications, stewardship, annual giving and planned giving Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track and analyze planned giving metrics, donor trends and campaign progress Supervise a team of development officers within a division Other duties as assigned Positions at this level typically manage a portfolio of donors rated primarily at $100,000 or more. They are expected to make 80 strategic moves and open a minimum of 10 proposals. Annually they will typically raise a minimum of $2,500,000.
Required Experience:
Seven years in fundraising or related work experience such as high-level sales, marketing, constituent-based outreach Experience working in an environment dependent on developing and maintaining positive relationships

Ability to travel Ability to work nonstandard business hours, including weekends and holidays Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
Additional Preferred:
Education:
Master's Degree; JD Degree; CPA or CFP certification Experience in/with: Supervising direct reports Recruiting, organizing and managing volunteers Extensive major gift fundraising Development activities, preferably in higher education Securing major gifts and/or planned gifts Public relations or marketing Database computer systems and applications, preferably with customer relationship management systems College athletics at the NCAA level Experience or degree in one of the college's disciplines
