Job Description

Position Summary:
The Development Officer plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Salem4Youth by leading fundraising initiatives, cultivating donor relationships, and securing financial support through grants, events, and campaigns. This position is responsible for assisting in developing and executing a comprehensive development strategy, managing donor communications, and fostering community partnerships. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building, and hands-on execution to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan, including major gifts, grants, events, and donor campaigns.
Donor Relations:
Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring consistent communication and appreciation.
Grant Writing:
Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities.
Event Planning:
Organize and execute fundraising events, donor appreciation gatherings, and community outreach initiatives.
Communications:
Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials, newsletters, and social media content.
Database Management:
Maintain accurate donor records and generate reports using CRM software (e.g., DonorSnap, etc.). Faith-Based Requirement This position is part of Salem4Youth's ministry team and requires the employee to be a committed Christian who actively participates in a local church. The successful candidate must affirm our Statement of Faith and demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Ministry Responsibilities This role includes responsibilities that support the spiritual mission of the organization, such as mentoring youth, leading prayer, or participating in worship services.
Qualifications:
A personal commitment to the mission and values of Salem4Youth. 2+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations (nonprofit experience preferred). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build authentic relationships and inspire generosity. Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Familiarity with donor management systems and fundraising best practices.

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
