Job Description

Donor Cultivation Manager - Emerging Donors Isles, Inc., one of the most notable nonprofit organizations in Mercer County, has an immediate opening for a seasoned Major Gifts Manager. Founded in 1981, Isles is a nonprofit organization rooted in Trenton, with statewide reach, that provides a wide range of interconnected and evolving services with a single aim: to create the environment necessary for people and communities to grow and thrive. This position is based out of our Hamilton, NJ office. The Major Gifts Manager's primary role will be to work with our Resource Development team to achieve our major gift fundraising and planned giving program objectives, ultimately helping the department reach the annual financial goal. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development and the Chief Executive Officer, the Major Gifts Manager will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective major gift donors, as well as building relationships with existing donors to elevate their giving level and discuss legacy donor options. The preferred candidate has experience working on a small, dedicated development team with proven success in engaging emerging donors and securing major gifts. Responsibilities include prospect research; donor outreach and stewardship; attending donor meetings and networking events; tracking prospect/donor communications and moves management progress; participating as part of the team to develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies, and working towards determining the direction of our major gift program.
Qualifications:
5+ years in major gifts fundraising and donor relations with a proven track record of soliciting major gifts from emerging donors Thorough background in fundraising best practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to build rapport with donors and build solid, ongoing relationships Able to work independently and collaboratively Appreciate connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds Ability to pivot direction with ease and adapt to changing circumstances Exceptional attention to detail Willingness to work beyond traditional hours during exceptionally busy times of the year This position is full-time, hybrid - two days in the office - with a starting salary range of $68,000 to $78,000 , and a comprehensive benefits plan. Preference given to candidates who have experience working with donors in the greater Mercer County area.
