We are seeking an enthusiastic Development Manager to join our team. The Development Manager will be responsible for managing the volunteer program, soliciting in-kind donations, and donor database management. The Development Manager will need to be personable, well-organized, and exemplifies the agency's mission to provide non-judgmental services to end homelessness. This position reports to the Associate Director of Development.

  • Perform the duties below and other duties as assigned Manage the
Volunteer Program:
  • Coordinate and manage Joseph's House volunteer program in alignment with the agency's mission to provide non‑judgmental services to end homelessness.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard volunteers, ensuring required paperwork, background checks, and trainings are completed.
  • Develop and maintain volunteer trainings, policies, procedures, safety guidance, and role expectations.
  • Schedule and support volunteers, track attendance, and address coverage changes as needed.
  • Provide supervision, feedback, and conflict resolution, and document incidents in accordance with agency protocol.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers, recognize their contributions, and gather feedback to improve engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with program staff to assess volunteer needs and support effective supervision and use of volunteers.
Solicit and manage in-kind donations:
  • Solicit, coordinate, and manage in‑kind donations to support programs and events.
  • Conduct outreach and follow‑up with community partners, businesses, and donors.
  • Coordinate donation logistics, including intake, storage, tracking, and distribution.
  • Maintain and update in‑kind donation wish lists and drive materials.
  • Work with program staff to identify current needs and ensure donations are used effectively.
  • Support fundraising events by securing and coordinating donated goods and materials.
  • Track and document in‑kind donations and assist with acknowledgments per IRS and agency standards
Donor Database Management:
  • Oversee the donor database to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and completeness.
  • Implement protocols for data entry, segmentation, reporting, and data hygiene.
  • Enter, maintain, and clean donor, volunteer, and in‑kind donation records.
  • Generate analytical reports to support fundraising strategy, donor stewardship, and organizational planning.
  • Support staff and volunteers on database use, best practices, and data‑entry standards.
  • Monitor compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and data‑security requirements.
  • Manage user access, troubleshoot issues, and support system improvements as needed.
