Job Description

If you're looking for a role where you can directly grow revenue and strengthen long-term sustainability for a mission-driven organization, we encourage you to apply. As the Director of Development & Fundraising , you will lead Central Community House's fundraising and donor engagement efforts, with a focus on expanding corporate and individual giving while strengthening long-term sustainability. This is an autonomous role where you will set strategy and execute fundraising, marketing, and events directly in a lean team environment. You will serve as a key member of the Leadership Team, working closely with the Executive Director to build relationships, diversify and grow revenue, and increase community investment in the organization. In addition, as the Director of Development & Fundraising you will:
  • Drive proactive outreach, set meetings, and build relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders
  • Lead donor conversations and confidently make and close funding asks to grow corporate sponsorships, major gifts, and individual giving
  • Oversee donor stewardship and maintain strong, ongoing relationships
  • Independently develop and execute fundraising strategy, including creating and leading campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, and fundraising events end-to-end (strategy, messaging, outreach, logistics, execution, and follow-up)
  • Lead and execute fundraising and marketing efforts in a lean environment, owning both strategy and day-to-day implementation
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, stepping in to support day-to-day operations, keep initiatives moving forward, and provide guidance to staff in the absence of senior leadership
  • Track fundraising progress, manage pipelines, and provide reporting and analysis on development efforts
  • Strengthen fundraising systems and processes, including donor records and reporting in tools such as Bloomerang
  • Collaborate on budgeting, projections, and revenue tracking to support organizational goals
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or related work
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-building, donor outreach, and making funding asks, with the ability to engage diverse communities with cultural competence and an inclusive mindset
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven environments preferred
  • Comfort working independently while also building strong relationships across staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with donor databases/CRM systems (Bloomerang preferred) and fundraising reporting tools
  • Ability to lead by example, support staff as needed, and step in across functions in a small team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both strategically and hands-on with a high level of professionalism, initiative, accountability, and commitment to the mission of Central Community House At Central Community House, we believe in the power of community.
