Editing Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Marketing and Fundraising Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing DSACO's mission by managing communications, public relations, marketing/outreach efforts, and fundraising initiatives, with a specific focus on grant funding. This position serves as a leader for all of DSACO's fundraising events and activities, ensuring successful execution and donor engagement and stewardship. A deep understanding and passion for supporting individuals with Down syndrome are essential for this role, along with strong teamwork and communication skills. This position requires a creative and strategic thinker with strong marketing and fundraising expertise, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. This position also plays a vital role in expanding our reach, engaging supporters, and securing resources to advance the organization's mission.
Responsibilities & Deliverables Fundraising Support:
  • Identify and evaluate grant opportunities, with a focus on programs benefiting individuals with special needs.
  • Manage the grant writing process and provide timely communication and updates to donors.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on donor relations, stewardship, and fundraising event coordination.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and activities including logistics, marketing, and donor stewardship.
  • Actively engage in fundraising meetings, contributing to event planning and campaign materials.
  • Assist with stewardship of new donors, including thank-you letters and providing requested information.
  • Support the preplanning and development of a future capital campaign, including donor research, campaign materials, naming opportunities, and cultivation strategies.
  • Assist with planning and communications related to major gifts, endowment efforts, and long-term campaign initiatives.
  • Fundraising activities include Festival and 5k, Fashion Show, Bountiful Blessings Calendar, Giving Tuesday, recurring donor relations, targeted donation requests, Golf Tournament, World Down Syndrome Day Luncheon, MOMS event and DADS Olympics.
Communications:
  • Develop marketing materials that reflect DSACO's work and maintain updated resources as needed using DSACO brand guidelines.
  • Implement a comprehensive communications and public relations plan to educate and engage the community about DSACO's mission.
  • Manage all social media messaging for fundraisers, events, and awareness initiatives.
  • Design and implement DSACO's Bountiful Blessings Calendar.
  • Produce and coordinate DSACO Up for Discussion podcast, including topic planning, guest outreach, scheduling, promotion, recording coordination, and follow-up communications.
  • Identify potential stories for print, podcast, and social media, pitching stories and building media relations.
  • Research, write, and edit stories and messages for publications, communications, podcast content, and website updates.
  • Create outreach materials for dissemination to targeted audiences on awareness initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Program Coordinator on targeted awareness events and resource dissemination.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to promote all programs and activities through effective communication efforts.
Other Duties:
  • Assist the Executive Director with financial reports and budgets, and support grant application processes.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, email distribution, and other communication needs.
  • Offer support and services for other programs and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Education, & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nonprofit, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of nonprofit experience with a focus on event fundraising, donor management, and program activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Grant writing experience.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience with web design and graphic design programs (e.g., Canva, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Experience in working with donor based platforms or CRMS systems such as Virtuous Giving
  • Proficiency in social media marketing.
  • Direct experience working with individuals who have a disability.
  • Computer skills: MS Office Suite, QuickBooks, CMS, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Down syndrome and a commitment to DSACO's mission.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Background check will be administered.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
