Position Summary The Development Director plays a key role in expanding the organization's funding base by leading fundraising initiatives, managing grant strategy, and cultivating donor relationships. This position works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to plan and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising program. Essential Responsibilities Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and execute an annual fundraising plan Generate revenue through research, writing, and timely submission of high-quality grant proposals to individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies Research, identify, analyze, and recommend grant opportunities at local, state, and federal levels, as well as private and public foundations Manage all aspects of the grant process, including applications, deadlines, compliance, and reporting requirements Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors and community prospects, including agency alumni Develop and maintain a digital fundraising strategy, including social media engagement, as resources allow Create and manage fundraising-related marketing materials such as newsletters, annual reports, and social media content Plan and manage fundraising events and special events as needed, subject to available resources Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect database
Education & Experience Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management.
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in grant writing (required) At least 5 year of Development experience (required) Experience in a behavioral health or human services organization preferred Skills & Qualifications Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Publisher Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize work effectively High level of initiative with the ability to work independently Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail Work Environment & Physical Requirements In-person position (no remote work option) Flexibility required, including occasional evening or weekend hours for special events Light physical activity, including standing, walking, stair use, and lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off If you're a motivated development professional who thrives in a mission-focused environment and enjoys building funding strategies that create lasting impact, we encourage you to apply today .
