POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Development is responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the growth and sustainability of Open Cities Health Center. This individual oversees all philanthropic activities, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grant writing and management, and foundation relations. The Director will also cultivate strategic partnerships and engage donors in support of the organization's mission. This role reports to the CEO and is ideal for a dynamic, mission-driven professional with demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising and a deep understanding of community-based health services. This position follows a flexible remote/hybrid work schedule, allowing for both collaboration and flexibility. Candidate must have the ability to travel to St Paul, MN when directed for engagements and organizational functions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising & Development Strategy (60%) Design and implement an integrated development plan to secure individual, corporate, and foundation gifts. Lead annual giving campaigns, major donor programs, and planned giving initiatives. Establish benchmarks and metrics for fundraising performance and growth. Steward relationships with current and prospective donors with an emphasis on long-term engagement. Grant Writing and Management (40%) Maintain an organized grants calendar, ensuring timely submissions, renewals, and reporting. Monitor awarded grant performance, working with internal departments to track program milestones, budget utilization, and outcomes. Ensure compliance with grant terms, including federal regulations (e.g., HRSA, UDS, SAMHSA) and private funder requirements. Serve as a liaison between departments to support cross-functional grant execution. Team and Stakeholder Collaboration Supervise development staff, contractors, and interns as needed. Provide regular reports and presentations to the Board of Directors and leadership team.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
: Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public health, business, or a related field. Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) credential or equivalent fundraising certification. 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and development, preferably within a nonprofit health care or FQHC setting. Demonstrated success in grant writing and securing gifts from individual, corporate, and institutional donors. Proficiency with donor management systems and CRM platforms.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with the operating requirements of primary care programs funded by HRSA preferred. Master's degree in a relevant field. Work experience in a FQHC/community health center or similar nonprofit healthcare organization.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
