Job Description

Director of Development / Fundraising Isaiah House is a loving and supportive shelter that has provided temporary housing services since 1988 for unhoused adults and families. Join us in making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community. Due to Large Volume of Applicants, Please No Phone Calls. The Director of Development will provide leadership and strategic direction for Isaiah House's visibility and revenue growth, serving as the day-to-day point person for all matters related to fundraising and external communications. Reporting directly to the ED, the DoD focuses on developing and growing fundraising initiatives in support of raising unrestricted dollars to assure long-term, sustained growth. Overall Goals Manage a portfolio of individual, institutional and corporate funders to ensure continued revenue growth. Create and manage the necessary cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies within each category. Maintain a constantly growing list of prospects. Increase public awareness of Isaiah House and manage all external communications. Board Work closely with the Board of Directors to inspire their commitment and generosity. Provide Board members with the tools needed to be effective ambassadors and fundraisers for the organization, and to meet their collective revenue goals. Manage each Board members' list of contacts. Liaise closely with the Development Committee and lead meetings when appropriate. Support the recruitment and retention of high-quality Board members Participate in Board meetings and lead the Development component of meetings when appropriate. Serve as the main point person for any auxiliary Boards. External Communications Serve as a proxy for the Executive Director at community meetings, presentations, and networking events when appropriate. Serve as the point person for all media outlets. Manage the Isaiah House social media presence and drive the creation of engaging content. Manage the vision and day to day operations of the Isaiah House website. Write or manage copy for all digital and print collateral including brochures, eblasts, newsletters, and donor communications. Develop and implement strategies to bolster Isaiah House's regional presence and community engagement. Individuals and events Develop and execute a plan for individual giving (under $1000) and major giving (over $1000) that allows an organization to meet or exceed its revenue goals. Working closely with the Board, maintain an active and growing prospect list of individual and major donors. Generate new and creative strategies for engaging and cultivating individual and major donors. Manage the donor acknowledgement and stewardship processes. Execute in person or virtual solicitations. Design, produce and manage all of Isaiah House's signature events. Drive the recruitment and management of any Host or Event Committees Foundations Develop and execute a plan for institutional giving that allows an organization to meet or exceed its revenue goals. Maintain an accurate and complete prospect list. Oversee all foundation relationship management. Liaise closely with the Program team to ensure that all results, metrics and organizational information are accurate and up to date. Manage grant submissions calendar. Write or manage all grant writing including Letters of Inquiry, grant proposals and reports. Corporations Develop and execute a plan for corporate giving that allows the organization to meet or exceed its revenue goals. Liaise closely with the Program team to generate new and meaningful opportunities for corporate engagement, including both in person and virtual volunteer events. Serve as main point person for all corporate outreach and group volunteering. Execute and serve as facilitator for any in person corporate volunteering events. Leadership and Administration Serve as a member of the Senior Team Maintain open and ongoing communication with the Executive Director Supervise, motivate and evaluate the Development Assistant and potentially other members of the team as needed. Attend all Managers meetings. Contribute to other organization wide projects as necessary. Oversee Sales force database and all donor tracking, analysis and reporting. Oversee donor acknowledgement process. Oversee monthly financial reconciliation process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree typical/preferred Minimum 6 years' development work experience, preferably with managing small teams. Ability to successfully engage, cultivate, and steward long-term partnerships that will ensure the philanthropic success of Isaiah House Capacity for strategic leadership and vision Effectiveness in independent and teamwork, with assiduous attention to sharing information with others. Exceptional writing and presentation skills Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint Experience in Sales Force or donor database preferred. Excellent project management skills Exceptional relationship builder Strong execution and follow-up Superb organizational skills with strong attention to detail Highly self-motivated, accountable, and able to make decisions independently. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; ability to adapt accordingly to unanticipated changes. Ability to independently plan, kick-off and monitor events and projects.
