Full-Time, Exempt About the Opportunity Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and strategic Development Director for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This leadership role oversees fundraising, grant management, donor relations, and development strategy to support the organization's long-term sustainability and growth. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, accomplished grant writer, and relationship builder with a proven track record of fundraising success. This position offers the opportunity to lead and expand an established development program while creating new funding and donor engagement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Grant Management & Compliance Manage and maintain an established $2M-$3M grant portfolio. Research, write, and submit grant proposals to federal, state, local, and private funding sources. Ensure timely grant reporting and compliance with all funding requirements. Maintain accurate grant records, deadlines, and deliverables. Build and sustain relationships with grantors and funding agencies. Monitor and pursue funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals. Donor Development Develop and implement donor cultivation and engagement strategies. Establish and maintain donor database and CRM systems. Identify, cultivate, and steward individual, corporate, and community donors. Create donor communication and stewardship programs. Develop tracking, segmentation, and reporting systems for donor management. Fundraising & Events Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and special events. Develop annual fundraising plans to diversify revenue streams. Pursue sponsorships, partnerships, and new fundraising opportunities. Evaluate fundraising performance and implement improvement strategies. Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan. Establish fundraising goals and track progress toward revenue objectives. Provide regular reporting and updates to executive leadership. Collaborate with leadership on organizational funding priorities. Ensure compliance with all organizational, grantor, state, and federal requirements. Education Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered instead of formal education. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, grant writing, or related field required. Experience managing grant portfolios and donor development programs preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong expertise in grant writing, grant administration, and compliance. Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, and fundraising software. Proven success developing and implementing fundraising strategies. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret fundraising metrics and data. High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. Ability to build strong relationships with donors, funders, community partners, and stakeholders. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and respectful engagement with all community members. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Current automobile insurance. Ability to pass a criminal background check. CPR and First Aid certification within 12 months of employment. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform routine physical activities, including driving, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
