Exempt Utah Community Action is looking for an energetic, relationship-focused Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts that power life-changing programs and strengthen communities across the State. If you love building partnerships, inspiring donors, leading creative campaigns, and turning big ideas into real impact, this could be the perfect role for you. What You'll Do As our Director of Development, you'll lead and grow a dynamic fundraising strategy that supports the organization's mission and long-term sustainability. You'll work closely with agency leadership, community partners, donors, and the Development Team to expand resources and elevate our impact.Key responsibilities include:
Developing annual and multi-year fundraising plans Leading donor engagement, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and stewardship efforts Creating strategic campaigns with measurable goals and timelines Overseeing grant prospecting, writing, reporting, and compliance Supporting agency-wide strategic planning and community needs assessments Representing the agency at meetings, presentations, and special events Collaborating with leadership to strengthen program growth and sustainability Coaching and supporting the Development Team Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Nonprofit fundraising experience 3+ years of supervisory experience Grant development experience Public speaking and event planning experience Preferred Qualifications Master's degree Experience leading strategic planning initiatives What Makes You Successful Professional communication and strong relationship-building skills Accountability, flexibility, and attention to deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality and adapt to changing priorities Commitment to teamwork and community impact Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass required background and health screenings Compliance with agency personnel policies and Head Start requirements This position supervises the Development Team and includes occasional travel within the community.
