This role is relationship-centered and mission-driven, working closely with the CEO, administrative leadership, and community partners. This position is not sales- or occupancy-driven . Marketing and sales teams manage all lead generation and follow- up . The Philanthropy Development Manager focuses on building and sustaining philanthropic support that aligns with Riverview's mission, values, and long-term goals. Duties/Responsibilities:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors through consistent, meaningful communication Support individual and legacy giving initiatives, including donor recognition and stewardship planning Identify and research potential new donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners Coordinate donor recognition activities such as thank-you letters, newsletters, and appreciation events Grant Writing and Management Identify grant opportunities aligned with Riverview's mission and strategic priorities Prepare and submit grant applications in collaboration with leadership Maintain a grant calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting Monitor awarded grants and ensure compliance with funder requirements, including budgets, timelines, and outcome reporting Corporate Sponsorships Support the development and management of corporate sponsorship relationships Coordinate sponsorship materials, recognition, and reporting Procure in kind donations Event Planning and Coordination Coordinate fundraising and donor recognition events such as galas, luncheons, annual delegate meeting, and community events Work with vendors, volunteers, and staff to manage logistics and execution Ensure events reflect Riverview's mission and values Communications and Marketing Support Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to develop fundraising and donor engagement materials Assist in creating compelling storytelling that highlights the impact of philanthropy on residents and the community Assist in creating fundraising collateral Database Management and Reporting Maintain accurate donor and gift records within the donor management system Generate reports on donor trends, campaign performance, and financial outcomes Support data-informed decision-making and transparency Ensure timely, accurate tracking of all philanthropic revenue, campaign results, and donor activity Prepare and provide required quantitative data, metrics, and analysis related to philanthropy and development activities for the Annual Report Generate regular and ad hoc reports for leadership, the Board of Directors, auditors, and external stakeholders as needed Serve as the primary source of verified development data for organizational reporting, planning, and compliance Collaboration with Leadership Collaborate with the CEO, and Riverview leadership to support fundraising strategies Prepare materials and reports for leadership review as needed Volunteer Coordination Assist with recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers for fundraising and development activities Support volunteer engagement and recognition
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven ability to engage donors and secure donations through various channels, including direct appeals, events, and campaigns. Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising principles and donor stewardship Demonstrated financial acumen, with the ability to understand, analyze, and manage philanthropic revenue, budgets, and financial reports with a high degree of accuracy Experience with grant writing, grant compliance, and reporting Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners Analytical skills to interpret fundraising data and donor trends Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Experience with donor databases or CRM systems Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable approach to work
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in communications, business, nonprofit management, or a related field. Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or event coordination, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
