Job Description
The Assistant Director of the Connecting Adults to Professions and Education (C.A.P.E.) Program will support the Director in overseeing the educational, administrative, community engagement, and workforce development components of the program. This position works within the Meharry Center for Health Policy and is funded through multiple grants including the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Rural Healthcare Access Program. The Assistant Director will manage the implementation of programmatic goals, provide direct instruction, and lead internal initiatives. This position also serves as the primary liaison for Workforce Development Initiatives (WDI) and affiliate partner collaborations. Teach synchronous and asynchronous classes and learning activities Monday through Friday including occasional evenings and weekends. Implement workforce development curriculum aligned to grant and program objectives. Deliver differentiated instruction, evaluate student progress, and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state regulations. Travel to satellite locations for instruction and student support as needed Lead onboarding and training of student participants. Collaborate with the Director to ensure compliance with grant requirements and program outcomes. Assist in data reporting, documentation, and internal tracking systems. Develop and manage lesson plans, educational programs, and instructional resources. Coordinate with affiliate partners to implement WDI classes and events. Provide direct administrative support and take lead on WDI class operations at offsite locations. Represent the C.A.P.E. Program at community events and stakeholder meetings. Foster positive relationships with partner agencies and community organizations. Collaborate with the Director on grant-funded initiatives and outreach efforts. Participate in relevant professional development opportunities. Support special projects and perform other related duties as assigned by the Center for Health Policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
In- depth knowledge of teaching methods and educational procedures. Proven abilities to work efficiently and effectively with local and state agencies. Must be organized, creative, independent, self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, driven by excellence and have positive attitude. Must be able to work cooperatively with program staff and comply with College employee policies and procedures. Build and maintain positive relationships with students', management, staff, and the community. Must be able to maintain flexibility and adaptable and programmatic goals and needs change according to state guidelines and mandates.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:
Data Management Experience Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree from in a related field from an accredited college or university required. Experience working in LMS systems and data entry and management. Experience in community outreach and/or adult education.Education and Experience Preferred:
Master's degree preferred Spanish speaking preferred. Teaching experience including a TN Practitioner/Professional certification preferred.
