Full-time, Exempt Position Summary CollegeBound is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Grants and Development Officer to support and grow the organization's institutional fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for assisting with grant cultivation, proposal development, and post-award management across CollegeBound's programs, with a strong emphasis on Out-of-School Time (OST) initiatives, while also contributing to broader organizational fundraising and development priorities. As a key member of the Development and Communications team, the Grants and Development Officer will work cross-functionally with program, data, and leadership staff to advance sustainable funding, strengthen funder partnerships, and clearly communicate the impact of CollegeBound's work. Key Responsibilities Grant Strategy & Proposal Development Develop and implement a comprehensive grants strategy aligned with CollegeBound's mission and strategic priorities, including but not limited to OST programs. Serve as contributing grant writer, preparing clear, compelling proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation for foundation, corporate, and government funders. Review and analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to assess alignment, eligibility, competitiveness, and return on investment. Support grant development across CollegeBound's full programmatic portfolio as organizational needs evolve. Grants Administration & Reporting In collaboration with the Development Associate and Director of Development, maintain the grants calendar, ensuring timely submissions, renewals, and reporting deadlines. Ensure compliance with all funder requirements, including accurate financial and programmatic reporting. Partner with program and data staff to collect outcomes, metrics, stories, and documentation needed for reports and funder communications. Support leadership with funder stewardship, including site visits, presentations, and follow-up communications as appropriate. Research, Analysis & Funding Sustainability Conduct ongoing research to identify new institutional funding opportunities at the local, regional, and national levels. Track and analyze trends in education equity, college access, youth development, and out-of-school time funding. Support long-term sustainability efforts by identifying renewal, multi-year, and capacity-building funding opportunities. In collaboration with the Development Associate, maintain accurate prospect and grant records within CollegeBound's CRM and data systems. Collaboration with the Development Team Contribute to broader Development department efforts, including donor communications, fundraising campaigns, and special events. Assist with institutional support for organization-wide initiatives such as the Lawyers' Campaign and Annual Scholars' Luncheon. Collaborate closely with the Director of Development, Executive Director, Communications team, and CRM/Data Manager to ensure alignment, messaging consistency, and data integrity. Perform other duties as assigned in support of Development priorities and organizational goals. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred. English, communications, public policy, nonprofit management, or related field preferred. Understanding of local, state, and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding. Understanding of grant funding policies and procedures Skill & Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication and writing skills Highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and self-directed Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources. Ability to interpret financial data and financial grant reports Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects.
