On-site in College Park, Maryland About Food 4 Maryland Food 4 Maryland is a growing nonprofit organization working to improve food access, nutrition, and health outcomes for vulnerable Maryland residents. Our programs include medically supportive meals, senior nutrition, food-delivery services, wellness checks, and food-as-medicine initiatives. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Grant Writer to help identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, and support our expanding programs and commercial kitchen project. This position may have the potential to become full-time as the organization grows. Responsibilities Research government, foundation, corporate, and community grant opportunities. Write clear, persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding requests. Assist with grant applications, budgets, supporting documents, and submission requirements. Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting obligations. Work with organizational leadership to gather program information, statistics, budgets, and supporting materials. Review applications carefully for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Help develop reusable grant language, organizational descriptions, and program narratives. Track submitted applications, awards, follow-up requirements, and grant reports. Assist with funding requests related to food access, public health, senior nutrition, workforce development, and commercial kitchen construction and equipment. Qualifications Previous grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, proposal writing, or related experience preferred. Strong writing, editing, research, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow detailed application instructions. Comfortable working independently while communicating regularly with leadership. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and online grant portals. Experience with government or foundation grants is strongly preferred. Knowledge of food insecurity, healthcare, public health, or nonprofit programs is a plus. Schedule and Compensation Monday through Friday. Minimum of 4 hours and maximum of 5 hours per day. Approximately 20-25 hours per week. $20 per hour. Position is primarily on-site in College Park, Maryland. Potential opportunity for increased hours or full-time employment based on performance, funding, and organizational needs.
