Job Description

Development & Grants Manager (Part-Time, Growth Opportunity) Flight Expo Inc. Princeton, Minnesota Commute Time Position Overview Flight Expo, a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting aviation through education and aircraft preservation, is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Development & Grants Manager to help grow and sustain our mission. This is not a behind-the-scenes role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with in-person meetings, phone outreach, and building real relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners. This position starts at 15-20 hours per week (W-2), with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on performance and the ability to generate funding and build strong partnerships. Key Responsibilities Research, write, and manage grant proposals and reporting Build and maintain a strong pipeline of funding opportunities Actively engage donors, sponsors, and partners through phone calls, in-person meetings, and follow-ups Develop and maintain a targeted funder and donor list Support fundraising campaigns, sponsorship outreach, and events Track funding activity, deadlines, and reporting requirements using DonorPerfect, ensuring accurate tracking of outreach, contributions, and engagement Provide administrative support tied to development efforts Success in This Role Looks Like Building meaningful relationships that lead to financial support Consistently identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities Taking initiative to reach out, follow up, and close funding conversations Helping Flight Expo grow its funding base and long-term sustainability Ideal Candidate Strong grant writing and storytelling skills Confident and comfortable with phone and in-person communication Willing to initiate outreach and build relationships from the ground up Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven Able to quickly learn and effectively use systems such as donor and CRM platforms Passion for aviation, education, or workforce development is a plus Willing to sign a confidentiality and non-solicitation agreement to protect donor relationships and organizational information Early career professional or individual re-entering the workforce who is motivated to build experience in fundraising and development Eager to grow with the organization and expand this role into a full-time opportunity through results This role is best suited for someone who enjoys connecting with people and is motivated by helping secure funding to grow programs and impact.
