This position is typically located in our Fargo, ND office but we're willing to look statewide and/or remotely for the right candidate.
Job Function:
This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with donors, implementing fundraising initiatives, and supporting the organization's annual giving and major gift efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for relationship building, and experience in nonprofit development or fundraising.
Job Responsibilities:
Create and maintain positive relationships with community members and stakeholders through proactive outreach, events, and communication efforts to enhance community involvement and support. 1. Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors through phone calls, in-person visits, emails, and other communication channels. 2. Plan, coordinate, and support fundraising initiatives, including annual appeals and special campaigns. 3. Develop and prepare proposals and projects related to major gifts and annual fund materials. 4. Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgment of gifts, maintaining a robust stewardship process. 5. Collaborate with team members to create compelling fundraising materials and strategies. 6. Track and report on donor engagement and fundraising progress. 7. Maintain a donor database and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality. 8. Travel up to 50% as needed to meet with donors, attend events, and support fundraising activities. 9. Support the organization's development goals through strategic planning and execution. 10. Provide supervision to the Development Associate (data entry role in development). 11. Work with the Development Associate track and record funds received. 12. Seek out and coordinate the preparation of grant applications. 13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Certification:
♦ Experience in fundraising and related development activities, including donor prospect identification and cultivation, research, marketing and public relations. ♦ Knowledge of key areas of effective fundraising and resource development planned giving, wills, bequests, including major gifts, foundation and/or corporate fundraising. ♦ Excellent writing skills, effective verbal and interpersonal communications skills. ♦ Excellent public relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly, tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing with diverse individuals and groups. ♦ Knowledge of social and community services, and a commitment to support and implement the philosophy, values and policies of Catholic Charities North Dakota. ♦ B.A. Degree in Communication, or Business Administration/Finance from an accredited university or college preferred. ♦ Computer experience is essential. Knowledge of Word, Excel and other Microsoft programs necessary. Command of internet for research purposes. ♦ Up to 50% travel throughout North Dakota; and to work on some evenings and weekends.
