As a Home Visitor, you'll be on the front lines of early childhood support, helping families overcome barriers and achieve long-term well-being. Join our compassionate team to make a direct, lasting impact in the lives of pregnant women, infants, and young children. Position Summary A certified Parent Educator implements the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model, emphasizing parent-child interaction, development centered parenting, and family well-being in their work with families. Utilizing the PAT Foundational Curriculum in diverse, equitable, and inclusive ways, the Parent Educator partners, facilitates, and reflects with families. This is accomplished by providing education in the form of personal visits, group meetings, screenings, and linkages to a network of resources for parents and children. Key Responsibilities Provide home visits using PAT curriculum Assess family needs and offer developmental guidance and support Conduct required screenings and maintain compliance with OCHIDS Plan and facilitate monthly parent group activities with the PAT Supervisor and team Represent the program at community events for families and young children Connect families with community and agency resources Maintain a caseload of 20 families Plan, document, and complete parent visits focused on child development and family well-being Maintain accurate and timely documentation to meet program requirements Prepare and organize materials for visits and activities Complete ongoing professional development and annual certification renewal Support continuous quality improvement efforts Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to complete the Parents as Teachers Foundational and Model Implementation Trainings before delivering PAT services Culturally responsive and able to build relationships with families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds Familiarity with issues surrounding family poverty Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths Strong organizational and record-keeping skills Ability to work independently and be self-motivated Solid understanding of typical and atypical child development (birth to age three) Awareness of disability issues and trauma-informed care principles Familiarity with family empowerment models and home visiting best practices Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrate ability to work as an effective team member Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Ability to navigate community systems and make effective referrals Maintain certification as a Parent Educator by completing the required professional development hours for years of service At least 1 year of experience working with infants/toddlers and their families
Education and Licensing Required:
High School Diploma Preferred:
Bachelor's degree and LSW (Licensed Social Worker) will negotiate salary based on Licensure and experience
Required:
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance

Compensation & Benefits Starting Pay:
From $21.00/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (37.5 hours/week)
Paid Time Off:
