About Us Thadd's Place is a nonprofit grief center dedicated to companioning individuals and families through the loss of a loved one. Our mission is to provide emotional support, access to education, and a safe, welcoming space for healing'because we believe nobody should grieve alone. We offer free services to our community, removing financial barriers to care and connection. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Grant Writer to help sustain and grow our programs through strategic funding efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is not only skilled in grant writing but also deeply aligned with the values of compassion, community, and accessible mental health support. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and maintaining relationships with funders. The ideal candidate is both a strong storyteller and a detail-oriented professional who can translate our impact into meaningful, fundable narratives. Key Responsibilities Research and identify grant opportunities \Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals and supporting materials Collaborate with staff to gather program data, stories, and outcomes Maintain a grant calendar and ensure timely submissions and reporting Track and manage grant requirements, deliverables, and deadlines Assist with developing budgets and budget justifications for proposals Support donor stewardship through reporting and impact updates Qualifications Proven experience writing successful grant proposals for nonprofit organizations Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills Ability to translate program impact into compelling narratives Experience with grant research tools and databases Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects Familiarity with behavioral health, grief support, or community-based services is a plus Preferred Qualifications Experience working with small nonprofits or grassroots organizations Understanding of trauma-informed care or grief-informed practices Knowledge of funding sources related to mental health, children's programs, or community services
