United Community Family Services (UCFS-CALC) is a trusted, community-based nonprofit organization serving families and individuals in need. Rooted in service to refugees and immigrants, UCFS-CALC delivers high-impact, wraparound services to help clients achieve long-term self-sufficiency with dignity. Job description United Community Family Services is a human service organization serving refugees and other low-income families in southeast Michigan. Our mission is to provide programs that guide, support and empower individuals to achieve self-sufficiency with dignity and hope.
Primary Responsibilities :
The primary responsibilities of the Grant Writer/Grant Manager is performing grant research, managing and tracking a grants calendar, proposal submission, government and foundation award management, reports and metrics tracking. Affiliated tasks with this role include: Participates in the development, evaluation and implementation of annual plans for grant development by working collaboratively with the President and Senior Grant Manager in designing grant programs in order to produce grant applications and/or proposals. Understands program and Agency funding priorities and financial goals. Develops individual grant proposals, letters of intent, concept papers and other proposals in accordance with each grant-making organization's preferences and guidelines. Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications including compiling required attachments, appendices and forms. Develops goals, logic models and outcomes for grant submissions Develops budgets and budget justifications for grant proposals. Ensures Agency compliance with grant budgets. Assists with writing grant-required quarterly, annual and final reports for awarded grants. Compiles statistical and informational data for use in reports. Collaborates with various team members including CEO, Senior Grant Manager, Program Directors, and Accounting to collect accurate and current program information and data for use in proposals and end-of-period grant reports. Ensures compliance and responsiveness with funder guidelines and requests. Identify, and communicate with, community agencies and external organizations thought to be relevant to the funding project and solicit their support, including letters, input, participation as appropriate. Maintain a grant calendar and a database system for tracking all grant submissions and reporting deadlines. Generating acknowledgements and other letters and communications as needed. Protects Agency work product from disclosure and use by 3rd parties. Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
