The Behavioral Education Development Specialist reports to the Director of Behavioral Education and supports the development and delivery of competency-based education, continuing education, and training programs for direct care staff at Bradley Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and revising curricula and training materials for direct care staff. Conduct needs assessments to identify specific training and education requirements. Recommend and implement innovative care practices, techniques, and methods. Plan, deliver, and evaluate educational programs within the hospital and the community. Collaborate with Clinical Managers to develop and assess orientation, continuing education, and preceptor programs. Support the development and evaluation of patient- and family-specific care practices. Participate in selecting, training, and evaluating instructors. Develop and assess measures of direct care competencies. Review and update regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. Contribute to research studies as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

Master's degree in a human services field (e.g., social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology) from an accredited graduate school.

Licensure:

LICSW, LMHC, or Psychologist license preferred.

Experience:

3-5 years working with children in a behavioral health setting. Experience developing and conducting training programs in a large institutional or corporate setting. Proficiency in data entry and PC applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with various hospital personnel.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This role involves working in a psychiatric setting, requiring the ability to remain calm in crisis situations, use de-escalation techniques, and prioritize patient care for a safe and therapeutic environment.

Physical requirements include:

Lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Physically managing patients using approved intervention methods. Blocking and deflecting aggression when necessary. Running short distances as needed.
