Job Description

Description Director of Private Grants This is not a typical grant writing job. We have a strong, established infrastructure. Now we're ready to scale...deeper, broader, and more strategically. We're looking for someone who can take our private grants program to the next level. What You'll Do Identify and pursue new foundation funding opportunities Write compelling, high-performing proposals Own the full grants lifecycle: research, writing, submission, reporting, renewal Build and steward strong relationships with foundations Manage deadlines, data, and details with precision Partner with staff outside of the philanthropy team in order to align funding with impact Who You Are An exceptional writer (no shortcuts, no fluff) Highly organized and deadline-driven Both strategic and execution-focused A relationship-builder, not just a proposal submitter Self-directed, accountable, and willing to work hard The Work We operate in the world of intimate partner violence where the stakes are real and the outcomes matter. This is not work for the faint of heart. Rather, it's for people with strong hearts: people who can hold hard truths, move quickly, and still produce excellent work. The mission could not be more urgent. The impact is tangible. And the work is deeply meaningful. This role means high expectations, high ownership, and high impact. You will not be maintaining the status quo, you will be expanding it. Every dollar you secure directly supports safety, accountability, and system change for victims of domestic violence. We're looking for someone to build, drive, and grow a funding stream that fuels real impact. If you want to come in and leave your mark on a unique and powerful mission, this is your moment. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 3+ years of successful grant writing/fundraising experience Strong project management and communication skills Meticulous attention to detail The Bottom Line We're not looking for someone to "do grants."
