Description Position Summary:
The Grants and Sponsorship Specialist supports the organization's fundraising and partnership efforts by managing the full grants lifecycle and coordinating sponsorship-related activities. This position specifically focuses on community-based and other private funding sources to close the service gap in Catholic Charities' programs. This role is responsible for researching, writing, submitting, and tracking grant and sponsorship applications, as well as coordinating sponsorship outreach and fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
Grants Management & Writing Manage the full grants cycle, including prospect research, application development, submission, reporting, and compliance tracking Write clear, compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and required narratives aligned with organizational programs and priorities Gather program data, outcomes, budgets, and supporting materials from internal teams to support grant applications Maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities Prepare and submit grant reports in a timely and accurate manner Maintain organized records of grant submissions, awards, and correspondence within the organization's database or tracking system Sponsorship Applications & Coordination Research, prepare and submit sponsorship applications for events, programs, and initiatives. Coordinate sponsorship outreach logistics, including preparing outreach materials, tracking outreach efforts, and managing timelines Support internal coordination related to sponsorship fulfillment, such as recognition materials, acknowledgments, and benefit tracking Ensure sponsorship commitments and deliverables are documented and communicated to relevant staff Maintain accurate sponsorship records and reporting for internal use Collaboration & Administrative Support Collaborate closely with the Advancement Director, Development Team, and program leadership to align grant and sponsorship submissions with organizational priorities Support cross-departmental coordination to collect information, metrics, and narratives needed for applications and reports Assist with preparation of internal reports related to grants and sponsorship activity Ensure consistency with organizational messaging, branding, and compliance requirements Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Job Requirements The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance of this position. Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, as well as keyboard fingering, talking, hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.
Non-Physical Requirements:
Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or a related field Experience 2+ years of experience in grant writing, grants management, or a similar development role, with a track record of securing funding Experience with government grant portals (e.g., Grants.gov, SAM.gov), preferred Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and grant tracking systems Special Skills Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight, non-negotiable deadlines. Exceptional, persuasive writing and editing skills with the ability to create clear, structured, and compelling narratives Ability to conduct thorough, in-depth prospective research and interpret complex grant guidelines. Understanding of nonprofit financial structures, including budgets and expense tracking. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders Bi-lingual and bi-cultural preferred Licensure, Registration, Certification Certified Grant Writer (CGW) or Grant Professional Certified (GPC) Credential, preferred Employment is conditional upon: Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Wage Range:
$32.50 - $37.25 per hour, depending on education & experience
