Job Description

The OverstockOutlet LLC -
Warehouse Manager Trainee Job Description:
We're hiring a Warehouse Manager trainee who will learn to run the floor — not from an office, but right alongside the crew. If you're the kind of person who can't stand watching someone struggle with a pallet jack while you're "supervising," this is the job for you. You'll learn to own our warehouse operations top to bottom: how product moves, how the space is laid out, how the team works, and how safely and efficiently the whole thing runs. After training, the warehouse crew will report directly to you. There will be no middle layer, no committee. You will run it. Day-to-day
  • Working the floor with your crew. Receiving, picking, staging, loading — you're in it, not watching it.
  • Managing the warehouse team directly. Scheduling, training, holding people accountable, building a crew that shows up and gets after it.
  • Laying out the floor and rack systems so the space actually works. Bin locations, flow, dock staging, slotting — built around how product actually moves, not how it looked on paper a year ago.
  • Keeping the operation safe. Clean aisles, trained operators, equipment that works, no shortcuts that get someone hurt.
  • Running inventory tight. Counts, cycle audits, shrink under control.
  • Hitting the numbers — throughput, accuracy, on-time — and knowing why when you don't. What we're looking for
  • Warehouse experience, curious hands-on style, attention to detail, and willingness to take responsibility. You will gain experience by doing, thinking, trial and error, process improvement, caring about every aspect of your work. You know the difference between a well-run warehouse that's been managed and one that's just been occupied.
  • Leadership people respect. Not because of your title — because you know the work, you're fair, and you don't ask anyone to do something you wouldn't do yourself.
  • A good eye for space and flow. You can walk a warehouse and see what's wrong with it. You will learn to lay out racking, plan flow, and fix bottlenecks.
  • Forklift-certified or will become certified under direction of company. Will become comfortable on the equipment and be able to train crew.
  • Steady under pressure. Trucks are late, an order's short, someone called out — you sort it out and keep the day moving.
  • Clear communicator. You don't need fancy words. You need people to know what you mean and what you expect.
  • Learn our warehouse management system (WMS) and assist with implementation of new systems and processes.
Background check and drug screening We run a safe operation, and the person managing the floor sets the standard.
Final offers are contingent on:
Background check. Criminal history, employment verification, and reference checks. Pre-employment drug screening. Required before your start date. We look at the whole picture — old or minor items aren't automatic disqualifiers, but we expect honesty up front. Anything you tell us about, we can work with. Anything we find that you didn't disclose is a problem. Random and post-incident drug and alcohol testing. Standard policy for everyone in the operation. If there's an accident, near-miss, or reasonable suspicion on the floor, we test. No exceptions for the manager. We're a drug-free workplace. That includes marijuana, regardless of state law — this is a safety-sensitive role around heavy equipment, and we don't make exceptions.
Compensation & Benefits:
$20 - $25/hour to start depending on experience. Steel-toe boot allowance, work apparel, the gear you need. Paid time off. Schedule TBD, Overtime will likely be necessary.
Work Location:
In person Glendale Warehouse How to apply Send us a resume or a straight rundown of your work history — where you've worked, what you ran, how big the operation was. A long cover letter isn't necessary. If you can show us you've done the work, we want to talk.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Benefits:
Paid time off
