Our client is seeking a results-oriented General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of branch operations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can motivate teams, optimize processes, and deliver outstanding results. Summary for General Manager - Building Materials Industry The General Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive sales growth, operational efficiency, and profitability. This leadership position requires hands-on engagement with day-to-day operations while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities for General Manager - Building Materials IndustrySales & Operations:
Oversee branch sales, operations, production, delivery, purchasing, and inventory control to meet or exceed goals.Team Leadership:
Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff, including conducting performance reviews, addressing issues, and making personnel decisions.Budget Management:
Take full accountability for budgeting, financial reporting, and expense control.Inventory Control:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing waste and cost.Process Improvement:
Develop and implement cost-effective measures for vehicle and equipment maintenance.Customer Engagement:
Solicit and respond to customer feedback, addressing deficiencies to ensure continuous improvement and satisfaction.Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company programs, procedures, and safety protocols.Strategic Planning:
Forecast product demand, labor efficiency, and operational needs to align with branch objectives.Other Duties:
Attend relevant training sessions and take on additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications for General Manager - Building Materials Industry The ideal candidate will possess: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the building materials industry, with proven supervisory or management experience. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends.
