Job Description:
The General Manager provides leadership and direction for the recycling and de-manufacturing facility, with responsibility for financial performance, customer satisfaction, compliance and team development. This role balances operational oversight with site leadership, ensuring efficient processing of e-waste while building strong customer partnerships, fostering employee engagement, and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop employees at all levels, creating a culture of accountability, safety, and customer focus. Build leadership capacity within the team to support succession and long-term growth. Foster collaboration across departments to achieve shared goals. Customer & Relationship Management Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers, ensuring service excellence and satisfaction. Serve as a senior point of contact for escalations, problem resolution, and account support. Partner with Business Development, Sales and Account Management to align operational execution with customer needs and future opportunities. Financial & Business Performance Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and operational financial targets. Monitor financial performance, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability. Support business growth initiatives through strategic resource planning and process improvements. Operational Oversight Ensure smooth and efficient facility operations, including processing, logistics, and equipment management. Monitor KPIs to track performance, efficiency, and service quality, making data-driven improvements where needed. Coordinate with partners and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of materials. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management Ensure operations comply with environmental and safety regulations Oversee audit readiness, certification maintenance, and regulatory updates. Champion a culture of workplace safety and proactive risk management. Education & Certification Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Environmental Science, or related field; equivalent experience may substitute. Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, operational excellence, or supply chain (e.g., CSCP) desirable. ITAD or e-recycling experience preferred but not required. Experience 7+ years of leadership experience in operations, business management, or facility leadership, preferably in recycling, manufacturing, or related industries. Proven ability to manage budgets and drive financial performance. Strong background in customer relationship management and service delivery. Demonstrated success leading large, diverse teams, primarily non-exempt staff. Familiarity with environmental and workplace safety regulations and certifications.
