Job Description

School Business Manager Overview:
We are partnering with a public-sector organization to identify an experienced School Business Manager to oversee financial and operational activities. This role offers a high level of autonomy and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of all business functions within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial and statistical reports for leadership and regulatory agencies Manage budgeting processes, including development of annual budgets and financial forecasts Oversee payroll, purchase orders, and general accounting operations Maintain accurate records of receipts, expenditures, and financial obligations Manage accounts, cash flow, deposits, and investments Serve as a liaison with state and local authorities on financial matters Oversee purchasing functions and vendor relationships Maintain insurance coverage records and ensure compliance Provide employee benefits administration support and maintain related records Supervise and support administrative or clerical staff as needed Assist leadership with operational planning and policy implementation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required 4+ years of experience in business administration, accounting, and budgeting Prior supervisory experience required Master's degree preferred (may substitute for some experience) Strong knowledge of accounting principles and budget management Experience in a school district, nonprofit, or public-sector environment preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
