The Chief of Staff (COS) is a full-time position reporting to the President & CEO that provides leadership and management to ensure project coordination activities initiated by the CEO are carried out in a professional and timely manner. The successful candidate will organize, coordinate resources and prioritize projects of varying complexity in an agile and effective manner. The position will manage issues and conduct research to secure information from sources within the agency, as well as benchmarking and market research using external sources of data and information. These activities support CEO decision making and are intended to result in an optimal balance of attention and impact on community engagement and internal operations. The COS may act as a liaison to the Board of Directors (BOD) on a project-by-project basis, with the members of the JCS and Masada Board and any committees or subsidiaries that may be established by the agency. The successful candidate will be a collaborative partner with management and a bridge to external stakeholders. This position provides management level support to the CEO by assuming administrative management, recurring project coordination, and coordination of strategic projects including handling day-to-day items, as well as attending meetings and documenting decisions, follow-up actions, assignment of responsibilities regarding these actions, and supporting the agency-wide implementation of strategic business projects in close collaboration with other management team members. This position will lead cross-functional collaboration and oversee strategic program integrations to strengthen coordination, efficiency, client experience, and agency-wide outcomes within the agency core pillars of service. All Full-Time staff members are required to attend and work from start to end, JCS' Milk and Honey, Matzah Mitzvah and other similar events, which are typically held on Sundays and/or evenings. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned: The Chief of Staff supports the CEO to ensure smooth operations throughout the agency. Interact closely with management and employees, identifying and communicating issues that may arise to the level of the CEO as a highly collaborative partner with the Executive Team. Manage key aspects of executive operations, including drafting and editing presentations and communications, coordinating interactions with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating collaboration among senior staff, and serving as a designated representative for senior management members or Executive Team members, as delegated by the CEO. Support of the CEO in both strategic and executive management functions to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met consistently with the JCS mission, vision and core values. Coordinate closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure that high priority meetings are scheduled and that any opportunity to delegate meetings are moved to management team members. Provide recommendations and consultation to improve teamwork and effectiveness across the agency. Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for programmatic areas including Case Management, Contact Center, and Senior Services programs. This includes program performance, operational effectiveness, staff collaboration, and integration of services across departments to support agency-wide strategic initiatives and client-centered care. In collaboration with the CEO, provide agency-wide operational leadership to ensure alignment of programs, administrative functions, strategic initiatives, and brand recognition efforts with organizational priorities, while promoting accountability, continuous quality improvement, regulatory compliance, effective resource utilization, and strong community visibility across departments. Collaborate with the Executive Team to assess key performance indicators and ensure maximization of resources and team performance data captured, review and consideration in informing business decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public, non-profit or business administration, finance, economics, logistics or related field is required. Master's degree preferred. Six or more years of experience in a business management or executive role Proven experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments Proven experience in planning, project coordination and leading strategic initiatives Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills Extraordinary interpersonal skills Flexibility and agility in managing competing priorities and scheduling Diplomacy and discretion Versatile abilities and extreme dedication to efficient productivity
