The General Manager contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy industrial customers through the effective management of construction services provided and overall business management of the assigned CR Meyer office location. Responsible for customer account management, fostering key relationships and other key results areas including, but not limited to financial performance, project management, community relations, risk management, staffing, etc. Oversees the bidding, planning, scheduling, construction and post-construction phases of all projects for the assigned CR Meyer office location. Reviews proposals prior to presentation to the customer, ensures all proposals follow CR Meyer estimating processes. Ensures follow-up with customers on all outstanding proposals. Ensures proposals have the resources needed such as design/build services. Works collaboratively with all parties to ensure successful proposals outcomes. Oversees the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan for all projects and ensures safe job sites working with the customer, on-site staff, Safety Coordinator and the whole project team. Is proactive and enthusiastic about safety every day. Maintains accountability for CR Meyer standards including, but not limited to, safety, quality, customer relations, compliance, etc.

Follows up on questions and concerns in a timely manner and ensures resolution of all matters. Leads by personal example and is a strong advocate for the CR Meyer Mission-Vision-Values and Code of Conduct. Ensures a high level of ethics in all business transactions, including but not limited to, soliciting pricing from vendors/subcontractors, protecting confidential information, regulatory compliance, relationship management, best practice standards, etc. Sets and pursues goals for the CR Meyer location that result in continual improvement and growth in all aspects of the business. Conducts routine meetings and check-ins to ensure open lines of communication regarding project completion, safety and other goals and objectives. Ensures that the assigned CR Meyer location follows all company policies, procedures and best practices. Establishes adequate office/administrative staffing levels and works with the Human Resources Manager to ensure proper employee relations practices. Establishes and maintains a list of key field personnel and works with the Labor Relations Manager to ensure proper sourcing of union field personnel. Coordinates the annual review process and succession planning efforts to ensure long-term staffing and sustainability for the location. Fosters goodwill relationships within the given community including business leaders, trade organizations, colleges/schools and non-profit agencies. Ensures CR Meyer plays an active role in their community and oversees all local public relations. Fosters key business relationships with subcontractors, vendors, union representatives, business partners, CR Meyer staff and other interested parties. Oversees all resource needs including equipment, tools, and supplies needed to complete jobs. Oversees all POs for all project-related expenses, oversees and approves labor hours, expense sheets, invoicing and is responsible for receivables management. Ensures that proper QA/QC standards and procedures required for all projects are implemented and within CR Meyer guidelines. Ensures proper close-out of all projects including punch reports and documentation of projects for future reference. Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times. Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required. Completes all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner. Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times. All other duties as assigned. Over ten years of experience in estimating and managing large scale construction projects with an emphasis on heavy industrial/manufacturing, equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and utilize scheduling and estimating software. Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer's Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program. Must have a valid driver's license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe, courteous driving habits. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required.
