Chief of Staff Job Description The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted internal advisor to the CEO, President, and CAO, operating much like aengagement consultant in a professional services firm. This role partners directly with threeexecutives to advance critical initiatives, synthesize complex information from across the organization, and ensure that strategic priorities are clearly framed, well organized, and translated into high-quality materials and coordinated action. The Chief of Staff brings an independent, objective perspective to each engagement, helping leaders cut through complexity, align cross-functional efforts, and communicate a coherent strategy to the board, external stakeholders, and leadership. Responsibilities Serve as an objectiveconsultant to the CEO, President, and CAO, bringing structured thinking and an outside-in perspective to each executive engagement. Synthesize complex, cross-functional information into clear strategic frameworks, recommendations, and decision-ready materials for executives. Coordinate initiatives across three executive offices to ensure priorities are clearly defined, organized, and progressing toward completion. Prepare comprehensive, audience-ready presentations and materials for the board, external stakeholders, and leadership. Translate ambiguous or complex business challenges into clearly framed problems with structured options and well-reasoned recommendations. Partner with executives to clarify strategic priorities and ensure alignment across functions and officers. Manage multiple concurrent engagements simultaneously, maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness. Handle sensitive matters, negotiations, and high-stakes engagements with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism. Build strong relationships across the organization to gather insights, align stakeholders, and support effective execution of executive priorities. Adapt quickly to shifting executive priorities and last-minute requests while maintaining composure and producing high-quality work. Essential Skills Demonstrated enterprise and business acumen, including understanding of organizational operations, financial levers, cost drivers, and business model dynamics. Ability to interpret complex financial and operational data and translate it into clear, decision-ready insights for executives. Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex and ambiguous situations, frame problems clearly, and develop well-reasoned options and recommendations. Exceptional synthesis and communication skills, with the ability to absorb complex, multi-source information and distill it into clear written documents, presentations, and strategic frameworks. Strong command of narrative structure and executive-ready communication, including the creation of board-level and stakeholder-facing materials. Highly developed prioritization and execution skills, with exceptional organization and follow-through across multiple concurrent engagements. Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise impeccable judgment in handling sensitive information and high-stakes issues. Strong influence and relationship leadership skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority and build trust across all levels of the organization. High degree of adaptability and resilience in fast-moving, high-demand environments, with the ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a consulting-style capacity, such as a consultant or engagement manager, supporting executive-level stakeholders. strategic planning or strategy execution within complex organizations. Proven success working across multiple functions and stakeholder groups to drive alignment and coordinated action. Ability to craft polished, visually clear presentations and written materials tailored to audiences such as boards and external partners. Comfort operating with a high level of autonomy while remaining closely aligned with executive direction and organizational strategy. Work Environment This role operates in a fast-paced, high-demand executive environment that requires frequent interaction with the CEO, President, CAO, and leadership across the organization. The Chief of Staff works primarily in an office setting with regular use of productivity and presentation tools to create executive-ready documents and materials. The position involves managing multiple concurrent priorities, responding to time-sensitive requests, and adjusting quickly to changing executive needs while maintaining a professional presence and polished communication at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Honolulu, HI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $72.00/hr.
