Job Description

Purpose The Business Manager serves as the chief of administrative and operational leader of the parish, providing executive-level leadership and responsible for translating the Pastor's vision into effective systems, clear structures, and measurable outcomes. This role is designed to provide executive oversight of all operational and administrative functions of the parish, allowing the Pastor to focus on pastoral care and spiritual leadership. Role and Responsibilities Acts as a witness to the Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Executive Leadership and Strategic Alignment o Translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes o Lead development of parish-wide strategic plans o Ensure alignment across all ministries and operations o Establish KPIs and accountability systems Organizational Leadership and Staff Oversight o Oversee Finance, Operations, Evangelization, Development, and Communications Departments o Develop leadership team through coaching and performance management o Foster collaborative and mission-driven culture Financial Stewardship o Lead the Finance Team o Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial accountability o Approve major expenditures and contracts o Align resources to mission priorities Operations and Infrastructure o Lead the Operations Team o Evaluate and sign all contracts between the parish and vendors/contractors o Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to both urgent needs and preventative work o Establish expectations of operational excellence in collaboration with all departments Mission Integration and Evangelization o Support the Evangelization Team o Ensure resources align in support of ministry priorities and successes Systems and Effectiveness o Develop scalable systems and workflows to ensure efficiency and innovation o Ensure compliance with diocesan legal and safe environment requirements o Provide leadership and presence during Parish events and activities. o Handle emergency situations following appropriate protocols. o Assist with various projects and tasks as needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years leadership experience, with a proven track record of supervising diverse teams and managing multi-million dollar budgets Strong financial and operational experience Mission-driven leadership and communication skills Friendly and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Ability to work well in a team environment. Must pass a background check and maintain all Safe Environment requirements.
