Job Title:
Assistant Camp Manager -
Camp Bow Wow Peoria or East Peoria FLSA Classification:
Exempt Reports to:
Camp Manager Pay Range:
$18 to $20 per hour AND bonus eligibility
Job Summary:
Manages the operations and activities of Camp while effectively promoting growth of the business.
Camp Bow Wow Assistant Manager Job Purpose:
Instills premier customer satisfaction by providing a safe, clean, and fun environment for the staff and the dogs.
Camp Bow Wow Assistant Manager Job Duties:
Recruit, Hire, Train, Supervise, Schedule, Coach, Counsel, and Discipline Camp Counselors/Leads/Front Desk Staff:
  • Creates weekly schedules for all employees in the absence of the Camp Manager
  • Assumes responsibility to cover or find coverage of any uncovered shifts. Adjust scheduling needs as needed to budget labor percentage (41% or below)
  • Monitor attendance and tardiness of Camp Counselors by enforcing attendance policies
  • Ensure all Camp Counselors understand and follow policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Learn/Perform full shift in any position; Fill in anywhere that is needed
  • Be familiar with health-related issues in dogs such as bloat, kennel cough, seizures, allergic reactions
  • Rewards and recognizes team members that provide exceptional customer service and exemplary work
  • Promotes teamwork by being a "hands-on Manager!" Camp Counselors work with you, not for you!
  • Build a company culture around "Making Dogs Happy" Prioritize Customer Service while
Promoting Efficient Operations:
  • Provide premier customer service by building relationships with customers and educating them about CBW
  • Meets weekly with the Camp Owner to discuss details of the operations and to set future goals for improvement and growth
  • Ensures the continued growth of the business by maintaining at least 6% YOY sales
  • Executes minimum of 40% First Day Special sales.
  • Provides premier customer service by answering phone calls consistently. Phones do not go unanswered for more than 1 hour. There should be no more than 2 days per month with failed call-answering rate.
  • Implement changes with staff and/or customers as business needs evolve
  • Ensure that all the Camp Counselors provide the care and attention at a level that rivals any service in the industry!
  • Uphold our reputation by ensuring that client issues and/or complaints are handled in a timely manner
  • Maintains 4.8 Google Review rating or higher
  • Execute operational and cleanliness standards by utilizing daily quality control systems such as the shift checklists
  • Ensures compliance with all franchise, local, or federal regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for checking inventory levels and ordering/acquiring supplies as needed
  • Performs other related duties as needed to ensure the success of
Camp Bow Wow Skills/Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience with Staffing and Scheduling
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to build client relationships
  • Passionate about great customer service and high-quality pet care
  • Strong desire to pursue personal leadership development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks
  • Goal oriented
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Exhibit experience in Process Improvement/Process Management
  • Demonstrate experience in Decision Making
  • Demonstrate experience with Conflict Management
  • Prove the ability to uphold the highest standards of those he/she leads.

  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive/confidential information
  • Working knowledge of basic web-based software and computer skills

  • You must have your own reliable transportation
  • You must not be allergic to animals
  • Must be willing to work weekends, nights and/or holidays as needed Availability Full time, exempt position.
Must be able to work flexible schedule - Camps are open 7 days/week, 365 days a year, so weekends and holidays are required but time off is permitted with advance notice. Available by cell phone for business needs and emergencies at all times. Attendance at evening and weekend events may be required occasionally. Business travel may be required occasionally.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
