Position Summary:
The Complex General Manager (CGM) serves as the strategic and operational leader for both the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette and the Courtyard by Marriott Peoria Downtown. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest satisfaction, team engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance—aligned with the brand standards of Marriott Hotels and Courtyard by Marriott. The CGM will lead with a commitment to radical transparency, inclusive team development, and strict fiscal stewardship, ensuring long-term profitability and brand integrity across both properties.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership:
  • Provide direct leadership and daily oversight to all departments across both hotels, ensuring service excellence and compliance with all brand standards.
  • Maintain a visible presence on property, fostering strong relationships with guests, associates, and community partners.
  • Ensure seamless operational execution across the complex, maximizing efficiency through shared services and optimized staffing.
Brand Compliance:
  • Uphold and execute all Marriott and Courtyard brand standards, initiatives, and service protocols.
  • Maintain property-level QA readiness and oversee periodic brand audits and performance reviews.
  • Drive brand-specific guest engagement metrics (GSS, Intent to Recommend, Elite member recognition) and ensure top-tier cleanliness, maintenance, and service delivery.
Financial & Asset Management:
  • Exercise strict fiscal discipline in all areas of the business including labor management, procurement, capital improvements, and forecasting.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans and budgets in collaboration with regional and ownership stakeholders.
  • Lead monthly P&L reviews and forecast meetings, identifying trends and opportunities to reduce expenses and maximize profitability across both properties.
Team Leadership & Culture:
  • Partner with property and corporate HR to cultivate a culture of radical transparency, ensuring open, honest communication at all levels of the organization.
  • Promote a work environment that values inclusion, accountability, and shared decision-making.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development, with clear KPIs and structured performance evaluations for all department leaders.
  • Champion associate engagement efforts to retain top talent and drive Marriott's "People First" core value.
Sales & Revenue Management:
  • Oversee all topline efforts in partnership with sales and revenue leaders to drive group, transient, and F&B revenue.
  • Ensure the execution of demand-based pricing strategies and Marriott's revenue optimization tools.
  • Represent the property in the local business community and build strong client relationships to support long-term growth. Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including full-service GM experience with Marriott International brands.
  • Proven experience managing dual-branded or multi-property hotel operations preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success in P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Deep knowledge of Marriott systems and platforms (e.g., MGS, CI/TY, MRDW, GXP, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership, open communication, and ethical decision-making. Preferred Attributes
  • Experience leading hotels through renovations, ownership transitions, or major brand initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of union environments (if applicable).
