General Manager Job Description The General Manager will coordinate, direct, hire, organize, and train a staff in all aspects of the restaurant business. We love strong leaders who can manage labor, staff, cost of goods, and serve fresh, safe food in a productive and profitable manner. We share focus on both the back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) responsibilities, as we believe it takes an entire team to achieve greatness, so we all work together. The GM will also be responsible for scheduling, hiring, maintaining health code standards, and employee retention. Everyone's performance will be measured by customer service, employee retention, and of course finances. We need a manager that can manage "the big two" consistently, and knows what it takes to produce a clean and profitable P&L. We are not a bar, but a restaurant that is open every day, and we need managers who understand what that means. All managers work anywhere from 45-55 hours a week on average. We want your significant other to be happy with you at home too — we know life happens and we respect that. This business is demanding and at times exhausting, but if managed properly, life and work can be balanced and everyone wins. To qualify for a General Manager position, you must have: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a management role for a high volume, full-service organization. A minimum of 2 years' experience in restaurant or bar management. Absolute ability to be financially responsible for the entire store. Strong understanding and proven ability to build profit. This role requires a positive, approachable, professional individual who understands the needs of a successful restaurant.
