Responsibilities Assist the General Manager in overseeing all store operations, including sales, inventory management, and staff performance Lead and supervise team members to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining high standards of professionalism Manage employee orientation, training, and development initiatives to build a motivated and skilled workforce Coordinate recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and hiring qualified candidates for various roles Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency Implement inventory control procedures, monitor stock levels, and manage purchasing to optimize product availability Supervise shift management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and store presentation to maximize sales potential Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative work environment Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic and sales growth Qualifications Proven experience in assistant management or supervisory roles within retail or grocery environments with a focus on retail sales and store management Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases Demonstrated proficiency in employee orientation, training & development, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, inventory management, POS systems, merchandising, pricing strategies, cash handling, and sales management Experience with retail math calculations such as budgeting, pricing adjustments, and sales analysis Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking procedures and inventory control practices Skilled in managing shift schedules while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards Organizational skills with attention to detail in cashiering transactions and administrative tasks Ability to handle customer service situations professionally using phone etiquette and conflict resolution techniques Previous assistant manager experience is preferred; supervisory experience is essential for success in this role Join us as an Assistant General Manager where your leadership will inspire teams, elevate customer experiences, and drive operational excellence.
