  • Applications is an executive-level leader accountable for setting and executing enterprise IT application strategy across the organization.
This role owns the financial performance of the Applications function, influences resource allocation across multiple divisions and regions, and drives measurable business outcomes including growth, margin improvement, and customer experience. The VP reports directly to an L1 executive and serves as a key technology voice to the C-suite and board.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Business Performance Set the enterprise IT application strategy and operating model; ensure differentiation vs. competitors and deliver measurable business outcomes (growth, margin, CX) Own financial performance within scope: investment planning, TCO/ROI, and benefits realization; guide capital and capacity allocation across divisions, regions, and subfunctions Represent the Applications function to the C-suite, board, and BU leadership; resolve escalations and align priorities across the enterprise Portfolio & Program Governance Govern the application portfolio at enterprise scale
  • prioritize strategic bets, sunset low-value work, and assure delivery of cross-company initiatives Lead program decision-making on direction, approach, and vendor selection with urgency and accountability for near-term outcomes Evaluate key business and organizational challenges; direct the development of new or innovative solutions that create competitive advantage Innovation & Modernization Lead platform modernization, cloud strategy, and data/AI enablement; incubate new capabilities and operating models Remove systemic constraints and drive architectural decisions that ensure the application ecosystem can scale and operate reliably over the long term Apply deep knowledge of how the Applications function integrates across the organization to create and sustain competitive differentiation Risk, Compliance & Resilience Direct enterprise risk, cybersecurity posture, compliance, and resilience/DR strategy in partnership with security, audit, and legal Maintain governance frameworks aligned to NIST, ISO, SOC2, and applicable sector regulations External Relationships & Influence Own top-tier external relationships with strategic vendors, partners, customers, and regulators Negotiate with wide latitude on outcomes; lead sourcing strategy, complex licensing, vendor consolidation, and M&A IT diligence Influence and negotiate internally and externally across multiple divisions, regions, and subfunctions
Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences:
15+ years of relevant experience Enterprise architecture and capability mapping; platform and data/AI strategy at scale Multi-year portfolio and investment governance (PPM, OKRs, value/benefits tracking) and scenario planning Cloud and platform operating models (multi-cloud/hybrid), reliability/SLO strategy, and FinOps/TCO management Compliance governance and enterprise risk Data governance (MDM, lineage, privacy-by-design) and applied analytics/AI enablement Sourcing and commercial strategy (RFPs, complex licensing, vendor consolidation, SaaS/outsourcing); M&A IT diligence, TSA, carve-out, and integration Enterprise change with program assurance for large-scale transformations Financial acumen: P&L literacy, budgeting and forecasting, chargeback/showback models
Leadership Competencies:
Board-level executive presence; strategic storytelling with clear metrics and outcomes Systems thinking; converts corporate strategy into actionable roadmaps across multiple organizations and regions High-stakes negotiation and coalition building

  • $265,000 per year.
Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
