In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance programs, ensuring optimal performance, safety, for our customers . Your leadership will drive process improvements, foster a high-performing team, and develop innovative strategies to enhance service quality while maximizing profitability. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader passionate about managing complex operations and delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies aligned with organizational goals to ensure fleet reliability and safety. Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of technicians and support staff to achieve operational excellence. Oversee budget management, including profit & loss responsibilities, to optimize costs and increase revenue streams through business development initiatives. Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs, inspections, and emergency repairs efficiently to minimize downtime. Drive continuous process improvement by analyzing workflows, introducing best practices, and adopting new technologies or tools. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for parts, equipment, and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Monitor compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices across all maintenance activities. Lead project management efforts for facility upgrades or new service initiatives that enhance operational capacity. Identify opportunities for sales growth by expanding service offerings or developing strategic partnerships within the industry. Experience Proven management experience in vehicle maintenance or fleet operations with a strong track record of supervising teams effectively. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, process improvement, and project management within a maintenance or automotive environment. Experience managing profit & loss statements with an ability to analyze financial data for informed decision-making. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, foster collaboration, and drive business development initiatives. Familiarity with industry regulations related to vehicle safety standards, environmental compliance, and licensing requirements. Prior experience in sales or business development is highly desirable to support growth initiatives. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities Automotive General Manager (GM) oversees all daily operations of Minnesota Automotive, ensuring profitability, high sales volume, and customer satisfaction. Manage Technicians and service writers, service, finance), set financial goals, maintain manufacturer relationships, and uphold compliance with regulations. Requirements include 5+ years of auto retail experience and strong leadership skills. Key Responsibilities. Automotive tech experience is required of 12 years or more.Operational Leadership:
Manage overall Shop performance, in general.Financial Management:
Review monthly financial statements, manage budgets, and ensure profitability with ownership.Staff Development:
Hire, train, and motivate staff, while fostering a high-morale work environment.Sales Strategy:
Work with ownership to Develop advertising, marketing strategies, and pricing strategies to achieve unit sales goals.Customer Satisfaction:
Resolve elevated customer complaints and ensure high customer satisfaction (CSI) scores. Customer first attitude; Must put customer needs first. Be a team player help and do extra work when for the customer retention. Be able to work with Tech's and staff to help them when needed and never stop learning more. Must be a good multi-tasker General maintenance; Be ready to facilitate to employee's General repair and maintenance example; oil changes, tires, filters, batteries, wiper blades, vehicle inspections, alignments, Intoxalock installs and removals. Be ready to do more advanced job's when needed, on -going training provided. Be ready to add new vehicle services not done in the past to raise profits. 1) Daily must come to work on scheduled time, ready to work and in uniform or dress up business casual and be well groomed at Start time. Have good positive attitude. Be ready to change direction as customer wants or needs may change in the middle of a job. Be ready to make company needs first ahead of family life as this job first Family second. Must be super reliable no sick days normally. Ideal candidate will be a 20-year technician looking to move into a new role of helping service write, and working with tech's to help figure out complex issues. Work as a technician when busy and take on new projects to increase revenue with a growing company as sky is the limit. It is expected that this position will work on vehicles when busy to get work done, or to help staff when sick or vacation is used. This position will pay for 10 days Vacation after 6 months and sick time will a bounce paid quarterly as pay when not used.
