Job Description

Job Summary The Assistant Property Manager supports the daily operations of an apartment community by assisting with resident relations, leasing activities, rent collections, administrative tasks, and coordination of maintenance services. This role helps ensure the property operates efficiently, remains financially strong, and provides excellent customer service to residents. Key Responsibilities Leasing & Resident Relations Assist with leasing apartments, including showings, applications, and lease renewals Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective residents Handle resident inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner Enforce community rules and lease policies consistently Administrative & Financial Duties Collect and post rent payments; follow up on delinquencies Prepare and maintain resident files, lease documents, and reports Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and security deposit processing Support budget tracking and expense documentation Property Operations Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and track work orders Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance Assist with vendor coordination and service scheduling Step in to manage daily operations in the Property Manager's absence Marketing & Occupancy Help maintain high occupancy levels through marketing and resident retention Update listings, signage, and online advertising as needed Participate in resident events and community-building activities Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred) 1-3 years of experience in property management, leasing, or customer service Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Basic accounting and computer skills (property management software a plus) Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Physical & Work Requirements Ability to walk the property and climb stairs as needed Occasional evening or weekend work may be required Ability to lift light office materials (up to 25 lbs) Preferred Certifications (Optional) Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Fair Housing training
