Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team and drive excellence across our retail operations. In this pivotal role, you will support the store management team in overseeing daily activities, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining smooth store functions. Your leadership will inspire staff, optimize sales performance, and uphold operational standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong management skills to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsibilities Assist in supervising daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service. Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management. Manage employee orientation and onboarding processes to ensure new hires are well-integrated. Oversee merchandising, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and store presentation to maximize sales. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring positive shopping experiences and resolving issues promptly. Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and selecting qualified staff. Maintain accurate payroll records, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures to ensure financial accuracy. Coordinate purchasing activities, manage inventory levels, and oversee stock management systems such as POS (Point of Sale). Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to boost store visibility and sales. Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and legal regulations while fostering a positive work environment. Experience Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within a retail or grocery store setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively across shifts. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued. Demonstrated expertise in retail math, budgeting, sales management, and pricing strategies. Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, and cash handling procedures. Skilled in employee training & development, merchandising, and marketing initiatives. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently through excellent time management and organizational skills. Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks is preferred.
