Assistant General Manager

High End Cannabis Dispensary is looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant General Manager to help lead the successful opening and daily operation of our new location in South River, NJ . The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee staff performance, customer experience, compliance, store operations, and inventory control. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated retail leader who is passionate about cannabis, team development, and creating a polished, high-performing dispensary environment. Responsibilities Support the General Manager in all aspects of dispensary operations Help lead, coach, and develop team members to maintain strong performance and accountability Supervise employees during daily operations and provide leadership on the sales floor Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members Support staff scheduling, shift coverage, and labor efficiency Ensure strict compliance with New Jersey cannabis regulations, internal policies, and operational procedures Monitor customer service standards and help maintain a premium guest experience Assist with inventory oversight including receiving, reconciliations, audits, restocking, and loss prevention Support cash handling processes, register audits, deposits, and sales reporting Resolve customer concerns and escalated issues professionally and efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and visually appealing dispensary environment Partner with the General Manager on sales goals, store performance, and daily operational strategy Help prepare the store for inspections, audits, and compliance reviews Step into leadership responsibilities in the General Manager's absence Qualifications Must meet all legal requirements to work in a cannabis dispensary in New Jersey 2-4 years of retail management or assistant management experience required Previous cannabis dispensary management experience strongly preferred Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities Experience with inventory management, cash handling, team supervision, and compliance-driven retail operations Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Professional, organized, accountable, and detail-oriented Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and move up to 25-35 pounds Ability to support front-of-house and operational tasks as needed Why Join High End Cannabis Dispensary?
