Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director is the senior administrative and operating executive of the Fallon Tribal Development Corporation (FTDC). The position is responsible for the day-to-day management, operational performance, business continuity, and implementation of Board-approved policies, goals, and initiatives. The Executive Director serves as the principal staff liaison to the Board of Directors and coordinates corporate operations, personnel administration, financial accountability, capital projects, economic development activities, and strategic initiatives authorized by the Board. The Executive Director provides leadership and oversight for FTDC business operations, including assigned subsidiaries, enterprises, facilities, and development projects, while ensuring compliance with applicable Tribal laws, policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Serve as the senior operating administrator for FTDC and assigned subsidiaries, implementing Board-approved goals, budgets, policies, resolutions, contracts, and strategic initiatives. 2. Direct and coordinate the operations of FTDC business units, including retail, fuel, food service, entertainment, maintenance, cannabis-related enterprises, and other assigned operations. 3. Supervise, coach, evaluate, and develop managers, supervisors, and other assigned personnel in accordance with FTDC Personnel Policies. 4. Develop operational goals, performance measures, staffing plans, and accountability standards for assigned business units. 5. Prepare and present regular reports, recommendations, and operational updates to the Board of Directors regarding financial performance, staffing, projects, compliance matters, and organizational needs. 6. Coordinate with the Finance Director/Corporate Controller and other staff to ensure sound financial management, budget accountability, internal controls, purchasing controls, and timely financial reporting. 7. Coordinate Board-approved economic development activities, expansion opportunities, business planning efforts, feasibility studies, project implementation, financing activities, grant opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives. 8. Coordinate with Human Resources regarding recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, investigations, and personnel policy implementation. 9. Manage and coordinate Board-approved capital improvement projects, facility improvements, construction activities, and major operational initiatives. 10. Serve as the primary staff coordinator for approved economic development and business development projects and facilitate communication among Tribal leadership, consultants, contractors, lenders, regulatory agencies, business partners, and other stakeholders. 11. Oversee assigned management agreements and business relationships, including operational coordination, reporting, compliance, and stakeholder communications. 12. Ensure compliance with applicable Tribal laws, policies, contracts, permits, health and safety requirements, and other regulatory obligations. 13. Analyze operational performance and recommend corrective actions, process improvements, and business opportunities to the Board. 15. Represent FTDC in a professional manner with Tribal leadership, governmental agencies, business partners, customers, vendors, and the public. 16. Maintain confidentiality of personnel, financial, legal, business, and other sensitive information. 17. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 1.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Retail Management, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Experience managing multiple business lines, departments, or revenue-generating operations. 3. Experience supervising managers, professional staff, or department heads. 4. Experience with tribal enterprises, Section 17 corporations, economic development organizations, hospitality, gaming, retail, fuel operations, cannabis enterprises, project management, commercial development, or multi-entity operations is preferred. 5. Must have a valid Nevada Driver License, be insurable under FTDC insurance policies if travel is required, and pass background checks and other screenings required by FTDC policy, Tribal law, or applicable business-unit requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in office, retail, food service, fuel, cinema, maintenance, project, and other business environments. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call periods during emergencies or major operational disruptions. Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, computer use, meetings, driving between sites, and occasional lifting or carrying up to fifty (50) pounds when assisting operations. May be exposed to normal retail, fuel station, food service, cinema, construction, maintenance, and cannabis business environments. Pay:
$99,912.09 - $108,148.05 per year
