This position will assist in leading, directing, and managing activities at three of the Company's five locations. Excellent benefits are offered. Responsibilities:
  • The Assistant General Manager will report to our Sryacuse GM to help oversee the day-to-day operations of the dealership branches while managing the Sales, Service, and Parts departments to strengthen existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships.
  • This position leads their department managers to plan, develop, and execute performance goals and objectives in the service, sales, and parts departments. Continuous management of departments to ensure department goals and target revenues are met or exceeded.
  • Financial and accounting responsibility over the branches includes monitoring revenue/profitability, financial statements, inventory controls, wages, expenses, receivables, and other financially relevant data.
  • The individual is expected to recommend, create, and implement improvements and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Management of the fixed operations, including expense and cost management, while increasing revenue.
  • Train and motivate their team members and managers to maximize their skills in order to effectively communicate within their team, while encouraging the internal growth potential of all team members.
  • This role also assists with recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training new team members at their branch.
Primary Duties:
  • Responsible for overall profit and loss of the dealerships.
  • Communicate effectively with General Manager on operations, revenue, and customer service
  • Ensure annual business plans are developed and implemented
  • Address irregularities in reports or financial statements, while investigating and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Monitor software program, CDK, in order to run and review reports daily, monthly, quarterly, annually
  • Provide leadership that positively shapes employees' attitudes and builds strong morale in all departments, fostering a positive culture and work environment
  • Communicate effectively with employees on disciplinary actions, recognition, training, career development, company updates, manufacturer updates, and other HR related issues
  • Ensure adherence to company policies
  • Close monitoring of expense control
  • Provide direction to the sales team and track product orders and customer deliveries
  • Liaison between manufacturers, colleagues, and customers
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding any Company products or services and ensure customer's needs and concerns are handled to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Routine customer communication and interaction to ensure satisfactory customer service
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and manufacturer offerings
  • Travel to other branches and departments within the company
  • Monitor efficient service department operation with reviewing technician efficiency
  • Evaluate parts department reports to direct parts team to adjust inventory levels
  • Track training efforts and encourage training opportunities with the manufacturers
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment and facility to operate out of
  • Responsible for branch safety compliance
  • Ensure a safe working environment and meet all state and local requirements, including the requirements of Lakeside agents that perform periodic audits.
All company tooling should be maintained, and all PPE policies must be enforced.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • M.
B.A. (Recommended)
Experience:
  • 10+ Years of management experience (Required)
  • Sales experience
License/Certification:
  • Driver's License (Required)
Travel Required:
  • Travel to other branches in NYS
  • Travel to customers upon need and normal business operations
  • 1-3 Manufacturer conferences (Recommended)
